Posters and Tools REFSQ 2024

Requirements Engineering (RE) is a process that can highly affect the quality of software, systems, and services. The REFSQ working conference series is well established as one of the leading international forums for discussing RE and its many relations to quality.

REFSQ’24 includes a track to present posters and demonstrate tools covering any aspect of RE. This track gives researchers the chance to present their most recent work and obtain early feedback on ongoing research.

Posters

Posters should present (progress towards) a scientific result covering any topic within the scope of the REFSQ conference.

Submissions should adhere to the following criteria:

• Posters should not be advertisements for commercial products
• The methodology used for producing the results should be clarified and contrasted with the state-of-the-art
• Posters do not have to describe finished work, but they should present some preliminary or anticipated results
• We encourage submissions on RE-related topics that are not often covered in research papers

Submissions proposing a poster should describe the research work in the form of a short paper (see Submission below). Do not submit a draft poster with your proposal.

Poster Presentation

There will be a brief pitching of the posters, followed by a display. On the Industry Day, the posters will also be featured alongside industry posters. Well-crafted posters will be self-explanatory, but authors of posters are encouraged to be available to describe and discuss their work during coffee breaks.

The poster dimensions are A0 in portrait orientation, with the poster content mounted on a rectangular poster board that the organizers will provide.

Tools

Tool demonstrations allow researchers and practitioners to show how they support and enable the use of requirements solutions in practice.

Submissions proposing a tool demonstration should:

• Present a tool under development (or has been developed) as part of research or industry;
• Clarify the relationship of the tool to requirements engineering;
• Motivate the need for the tool;
• Describe the goals, requirements, intended users, and context of the use of the tool;
• Describe the novel contribution of the tool;
• Describe the novelty of the paper over any earlier publications on the tool;
• Clearly explain the architecture and inner workings of the tool (at least two pages);
• Detail the workflow or interaction of a user with the tool (half a page at least);
• Present briefly either the results of an evaluation or the design for a planned evaluation;
• [Optional] Include a link in the abstract to a video presenting the tool’s demonstration scenario (4–8 minutes, using voice-over or captions where appropriate);
• [Optional] Discuss any experiences and lessons learned when using the tool in practice.

Submissions proposing a tool should describe the research work in the form of a short paper (see Submission below). Do not submit a draft poster with your proposal.

Tool Demonstrations

Tools will be presented simultaneously with the posters at desks using your own laptop and screens. We recommend and support showing a poster at the conference in addition to the tool.

Best Poster Award & Best Tool Award

In REFSQ’24, we follow the voting idea from the last editions:

The conference attendees will be asked to vote for the best poster and tool. The authors of the best poster and best tool will earn a reserved time slot in the main track to present their work.

The Program Committee will be able to nominate posters and tools to be considered for the best awards. These nominations will contribute to the final votes.

Submission

For the submission, the general REFSQ submission guidelines apply, with the exception of the format. Both tools and posters can submit short papers of at least five pages and up to seven pages including references, and should be formatted using the CEUR-ART style, one column (http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEURART.zip).

At least one of the authors must be registered at the conference and present the poster or tool in order to have the work published in the proceedings. Poster and tool papers will be published in the CEUR joint proceedings of the REFSQ’24 co-located events.
